Universal Mystery Poem by Jackie Allen

Universal Mystery

early morning
prayers
throughout
the chapel’s history
rang out
like crystal bells
like the blossoming
of spring flowers
a fragrance,
like sweet incense
rising above the spell
an apparition
of perception’s memory
universal
in its ancient mystery
