Unknown Number Poem by Niko Mapes

Unknown Number

Rating: 5.0

I wanted to text you
Wanted to call
I wanted to hear your voice
Since it's been months and I miss you
I picked up my phone and typed in your number
'Unknown' popped up..
You must have blocked me, huh?
I understand.
I was a jerk,
I was needy,
I was selfish.
I guess I stared at my phone for what seemed like hours
Memerizing the numbers like homework
I'm happy I got to know you
Before you blocked my number
So I will call
Just to hear your voice mail
Because you always said,
'I don't answer unknown numbers..'

Painful to read as I think a number of us have been there. Its part of the cutting blow of modern life. Blocking is the total feeling of despair. Great work.
