Unknown To Generations Poem by Kevin Fox

Unknown To Generations

I started it all, I'm the reason you're not that tall,
You fall, so do I, I cry,
I never even met you to say goodbye.

Unknown to generations, if only I had the patience,
Its frustration, all mine, I cry.
The only connection is a blood line.

Your too far away, secretly I never wanted you to stay.
It fades, so do I, I cry,
You will feel nothing when I die.

Now its regret, my choices are my debt,
I can't forget, or can I?
I ask myself every day, Why?

Forever I'll wait, and see if I can affect your fate,
It's never too late, your mine, I cry,
As future generations go passing by.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I chose to not be in my sons life 7 years ago. I wrote this as I thought I would never know him, or the family he would make. I'm happy to say we have been re-united and could not be happier
