Unlearning (Sonnet #90) Poem by Tina Baaklini

Unlearning (Sonnet #90)

Sometimes I do feel I need to unlearn
Unlearn all I learned about granting trust
Let the furnace of past memories burn
Stolen time, lost life, let all burn to dust

Life lessons free us from expectations
People are phases, life is transient
Love yourself, you deserve real affection
Have faith in your mission, be diligent

Love, but choose wisely, trust not beginnings
Spark disagreement, create anger
In conflicts, you'll know others' true feelings
Trust the one who forgives, cares, the tender

Cry not over missed opportunities
As Santa's bag, life is full of goodies
