Unlovable Poem by Anisa Tara

Unlovable

You could love me till the Bengal bay,
Spend day after endless day,
Chasing after me,
Still I'd ache to run away.

You could turn every stone over,
Search the heart of every lover,
For my heart,
Still you won't find her.

You could tie me up in chains,
Drench me with your rain,
Soak me through,
Still it would all be in vain.

You could sing every love song,
Fix all that is wrong,
Within me,
Still to you I won't belong.

So don't ask me to love you,
I don't really know how.
Forever isn't enough,
For me to love you now.

Don't make impossible requests,
And ask me for my heart.
You'll see there's nothing inside,
When you pull me apart.
