Unnecessary Air. (Lyrics) - Poem by Leah Ayliffe

I was so lost and confused,
But you well know that.
I was dependent on booze,
and I didn't hide it.
You came around like a star,
shining brighter than fire.
You were a player in the crowd,
a game that I'm good at, I say.
Always so good at, a doll.
Call my bluffs, ready, I fall.

You're like a dream
Happiness in a scream
Dancing with you, baby,
Halloween on the screen
I'm drowning in something unfamiliar
Emotions that make nothing clearer.
You're so real and key
The king of everything
No lies and no secrets
Keeping you with me
I think I'm gonna jump the deep end
Under water, but still breathing.

You said I was just like
a book filled with colours.
I was the wind floating by,
A breeze you had noticed.
Life is so strange and so sad,
but you see the happiness.
Take me away from this land,
show me the way that it is.
Following you into bliss.
Goodbye to a life I won't miss.

You're like a dream
Happiness in a scream
Dancing with you, baby,
Halloween on the screen
I'm drowning in something unfamiliar
Emotions that make nothing clearer.
You're so real and key
The king of everything
No lies and no secrets
Keeping you with me
I think I'm gonna jump the deep end
Under water, but still breathing.

Tell me of my soft skin
that your fingers trace.
Your arms so strong,
a charming smile on your face.

I know it's nothing serious,
Don't be scared by the words I say.
My head is stuck in the clouds
but on earth with you I'd stay.

Yeah, with you in reality I can play.

Let's play........ let's play.......
You make me so different
and unafraid.
....................let's play.

You're like a dream
Happiness in a scream
Dancing with you, baby,
Halloween on the screen
I'm drowning in something unfamiliar
Emotions that make nothing clearer.
You're so real and key
The king of everything
No lies and no secrets
Keeping you with me
I think I'm gonna jump the deep end
Under water, but still breathing.

There is so much air
like you told me.
There is so much air.
We don't need it to live,
we don't need this air.
