Unrequited And Wine Poem by Janine Alyssa Navarro

Unrequited And Wine

Rating: 5.0

imperfect grapes, or even berries
were drowned into this bottle
but care not for its origin, its maker;
instead bask in its service, its offering
let me taste your lips
as I travel down into you
to heal the wounds and scars
that prevented you from
breathing into me when I wanted you to
I will not judge you as your eyes dart away
I will not seize from being your need
when the nights are colder
laying next to you, idle and stiff
on your bed, as you rise and lay
for always I will be the fruits of the vines
that will shelter and cradle you
even if you've ebbed from my trying taste
