Unsolicited Guests (Sonnet # 202) Poem by Tina Baaklini

Unsolicited Guests (Sonnet # 202)

My mind receives phone calls and knocks at doors,
The most harassing of all is the past
To which I bid farewell, forevermore.
Lessons well learned, I move ahead steadfast.

Then comes that resounding echo from afar,
I'm your tomorrows, tell me where will you be?
In a jet plane, a train, or among the stars,
I trust my fate, it guides my destiny.

The friendliest of all is the present,
Let's sow, get things done, focus on the now
Let's love, pray and sway, life is a present,
Laugh and be merry, we'll all die somehow.

Thus I live and labor each day with peace,
I climb hills, catch nightingales and eat cherries.
