I fear the sound of my own voice
a whisper trapped beneath the weight of silence.
I fear the loss of those I hold dear,
the tremble of discomfort left unsaid,
the quiet rebellion of unspoken truths.
And so, I bend
folding beneath the burden of your words,
bearing the weight of what you do
with a fragile smile.
But deep within, a storm brews in secret,
my thoughts raging in a language I dare not speak.
I ache with the wish to be more than this
to rise, unafraid, from the shadows of fear,
to rewrite the script that binds me to silence.
Will I ever summon the courage to speak
what my heart has long buried?
Will I stand tall, my voice a banner unfurled,
no longer afraid of what may come?
I am lost in sorrow's quiet ache,
adrift in the questions that haunt me still
Do I deserve this fate?
Or am I simply a prisoner of my own fear?
I do not know.
But the chains of silence tighten,
and I wonder if, one day, I might find the strength
to break free
to finally be heard.
