Unspoken Truth Poem by Sofia Moreno

Unspoken Truth

How can I open this shell,
When you throw the fork to the see?
How can I open this book,
When you put it away in the shelf of endless books?
How can I smile again,
When you give me reasons to cry loudly?
How can I resurface,
When you keep pushing my head under the cruel waves?

But I can’t hate you,
I guess it’s true what they say
Because I love you
What would I do without you?

It is true then, that my smile fades
And I can’t stretch my lips…

My eyes wander around,
I can only see what I fear:
The truth that has been twisted
And has left me behind

The stars don’t come out
I guess they prefer to die
I guess they know me well

But I can’t hate you
What would I do without you?
Because I love you
And that’s really true.
