When you're misunderstood, you make a lot of wishes
You wish you were attractive;
Or smart
You wish you were taller;
And stronger
You wish you were confident
You wish you could sing in tune
You wish you could block out your pessimistic thoughts;
And relive your triumphs
You wish you could help;
Before anyone else
You wish you could breathe in normal increments and sit up straight
You wish you could stop crying, when no one can hear you anyway
You wish you could hold hands with someone, anyone
You wish you were OK; just being you
You wish you weren't scared or intimidated
You wish you could look them in the eye and hold a glance
You wish you could be around them, and not feel exiled
You wish that you had more moments alone; and more when you're not
You wish you didn't feel pain or discomfort; but it's always there
You wish you had her, or someone to hold
You wish you were normal, and not just deformed
You wish you felt worthy
You wish for another life, or to change this one
You wish you could do it; but you're too afraid
You wish you were in paradise; where the sun's rays pierce the horizon
You wish the moon could be full every night, but releaved it isn't
You wish for storms and lightning; they make it so it's not just like every other day
You wish for birds to sing a song you cannot comprehend
You wish for sleep; and darkness
You wish for them to go away
You wish for happiness and good luck
You wish for another chance; a reset button
You wish you could forgive yourself; but you never can
You wish you could forget
You wish you could smile and laugh
You wish you didn't have to wish anymore and find the will to turn it around yourself
But mostly, you wish you were understood...
