Until Death Do Us Part Poem by Barbara Blevins

Until Death Do Us Part

Here I am in my wedding gown,
I feel like a queen that just got her crown.
I feel like I'm flying high in the sky above
As we share these sacred vows before God above.
Even though I'm scared and my heart is racing fast
I feel that our love is strong enough to last.
My hand is trembling and shaking so
As you slip the ring on my finger slow.
I remember the vows from the start,
to the words of until death do us part.
As it ended and the preacher pronounced us husband and wife,
My eyes opened and I realized I had a new life.
As I look at our children the love still grows in my heart,
as I still recall the words of until death do us part.
Years of wisdom has made us so strong
And our life could be a love song
entwined as one flesh right from the start,
And we shall remain like this until death do us part.
