Untitled - Poem by Michelle Wallace

Why do I yet dream of this fairy tale knight who came to me as a child in a dream?
Why do I wait and what do I wait for?
Is this knight the one who will carry me away, into a brighter light?
Is that why I dream of ways he will whisper his love all over my body?
Then breath his life into me and ease the ache within?
I can smell his scent - one of pure male, and I can feel the warmth of his body against
mine as he holds me close in my dreams I have yet to see his face or hear his voice
I read every word as though they'll be the last ones spoken
With anticipation I await the day he'll come as a child who waits for a parent His words speak of forever, of answers to prayers, and dreams that will come true
