This week
I have an unexpected few days off from work.
Boss got insanely mad
because he didn’t like the way I did something
and thinks I destroyed thousands of dollars worth of goods.
He sent home till Friday
to clear my head and think about what I’ve done.
I think he’s overreacting
but I sure can use a few days to myself.
I don’t look forward to hearing his mouth
when I go back on Friday.
All because he didn’t like the way I
took some stickers off some boxes.
But now I’ve got the time
to do some things at home
I don’t get to do as often as I should.
I spend some time reading about split personality
and keep thinking about the boss.

Well, it’s Friday,
and I return to work,
and surprise! Surprise!
Boss acts like nothing at all happened and we’re bosom buddies.
He wants to arrange for me to get a longer vacation than I’m due to get
and a raise in pay.
He feels that
the more he gives to me,
the more I’ll give to him – workwise.
Personally,
I think he doesn’t want to have to cancel
his vacation next week in order to train new people.
In fact,
while he’s gone
I’m in command.
So, let’s see what happens.
