What about dreams of miscarriage?
Of tiny lives that never flourished
Of hopes and plans that were miscarried
What about the future they could have nourished?
What about the things we may never know?
Like the color of their eyes, the sound of their cry
The first steps, the first words, the first time they'd grow
Into a unique and beautiful butterfly
What about the forgotten?
The ones who never had a chance
To be held, to be loved, to be begotten
Do we just move on and forget their existence?
What about purpose in this pain?
The emptiness, the ache, the sorrow
Is there a reason, is there a gain?
Or do we just wallow in our tomorrow?
What about now?
The present, the only definite thing we have
Do we let our grief consume us like a dark cloud?
Or do we find strength and learn to live and love?
What about me?
The mother who lost her precious child
Do I just accept and let it be?
Or do I let my voice be heard, loud and wild?
What about dreams of miscarriage?
Of lives that were taken too soon
Of a love that will never age
Of a wound that may never fully heal
What about the future?
The one we had envisioned with our little one
Filled with joy, laughter and adventure
Now just a distant and bitter memory, undone
What about the things we may never know?
The milestones we'll never get to witness
The little moments that would have made our hearts glow
Now lost in the depths of our sadness
What about the forgotten?
The ones who were carried in our hearts
Forever a part of us, never to be gotten
But somehow, we must find a way to move forward, restart
What about purpose?
In this grief that consumes our being
Do we just accept and let it surface?
Or do we find a way to keep on living?
What about now?
The precious present that we often take for granted
Let's not let our pain hold us back, let's learn to bow
To the beauty of life, to the love that can't be quantified
What about me?
The mother who lost her precious child
I will speak their names, I will let their light shine brightly
For they were a part of me, forever and always filed
What about dreams of miscarriage?
Of the love that we will never forget
Of the bond that will remain, even in marriage
Of the little ones who may have left, but left a mark, a debt
What about the future?
The one that we must embrace, however hard it may seem
For life goes on, and we must nurture
The ones we have and the ones we have lost in our dreams
What about the forgotten?
They may have been taken too soon
But in our hearts and memories, they'll never be rotten
For they were our little stars, our precious boon
What about purpose?
In this pain that we must endure
Let's find a way to rise, to resurface
And let our hearts be filled with love, and less unsure
What about now?
Let's cherish the moments, the people in our lives
And let our love and light shine, somehow
For in the end, that's all that truly survives
What about me?
The mother who lost her precious child
I will hold on to the love, the memories, the dreams
For they were mine, and they will forever be filed
So what about dreams of miscarriage?
We'll hold on to them, with love and care
For they were a part of us, our little heritage
And they'll forever be remembered, in our hearts and in the air.
