Lizelah Thaugally

Untitled - Poem by Lizelah Thaugally

it’s 3.27 am
I wish the forest to reclaim me
Envelope me in its verdant lushness
Clean my mind with its pine freshness
Slow my heart
And take me gladly
Cover me with earthly promise
But its 3.29 am
And my mind is sharp and prickly
My heart is out there seeking yours
I think of your chest rising
Up and down
The hollow in your neck pulses
Fills my mind
Swallows me whole
Your earthly verdant fragrance is the stuff of my dreams
I cannot sleep
Its 3.43am
And I draw on blood
Swirl it around my mouth
Probe the ache
My heart is out there seeking yours
While you sleep in the forest
The stuff of my dreams
I wish to find you
the hollow in my chest rises and falls
while your heart slows
My mind is sharp and prickly
Pine needles underfoot
Forest come to me
I am ready now.
