Untitled: An Homage To Us Poem by Julian Takali

Untitled: An Homage To Us

I am fluid yet you make me a varnished fence
And around me are lustering sunflowers
With emerald leaves of worry
Very vibrant and vivid
Yet the yellow planks of security
Very brittle and pale

I have no beginning and surely no end
I cannot be lost; but found, oh yes
I am within all around you
And I was not created

Out of your pitiful fear circulating your four limbs
You've searched and torn down every secret of mine
Undressed me
And out of the ardent opal river that I was; you've made me a barren path with a start and a finish
So for that, I thank you
