Unusual Day Poem by Rich Harney

Unusual Day

Unusual day

The day starts as usual;
my window drop on the world,
coffee and cream bless me
with their usual nag,
Chihuahua eyes softly look
and wag
me - me.

The corner of the couch
screams for my butt,
my butt obliges.

The java and the butt are one;
Gimme some Coltrane man
before you start thinking about God
or some other distraction.

Unusual day begins…
she wakes
Sips my coffee
Changes my tunes
Dog growls.
