Unusuality Poem by Ricky Randall

Unusuality

Heartache is my specialty
And I can almost always promise you
That I will thrive in misery

By now it's the norm
And love is far too much

I hope these words come as a relief
Because nothing's more important
Than your own silly belief

If you believe, believe I'm okay
That should be enough to help you
And to help me stay away

Forever the oddest friendship
But it can be something we cherish
And don't we?

I've always wished for a little fling
Why wouldn't I risk jeopardizing it all
To see if we might have something?

And now that the rest of the world seems to be drifting apart
You've never felt closer

Yet you're with him
I don't understand

Why you even care leaves me so confused
I've never been your lover
But watching me try leaves you amused

It can be aggravating at times
But you're still my greatest friend
Is that a crime?

Tell me
Please tell me
Is that a crime?
