Upon His Words And Hands Poem by Dakota Hecht

Upon His Words And Hands

there stands a girl
stunning in white
staring at a boy
stunning in white
shes filled with emotions
afraid scared nervous
for what is to happen
she doesnt know
if she is ready
she longs to have reinsurance
but no one does so
she feels lost and confused
she looks to him hes calm
and his face shows nothing
she wishes to know
what hes thinking
but she never asks
so as she walks to him
she knows its time
she looks into his eyes
and he follows her
only paces behind
she wonders how he is so calm
beacuse he holds upon his
hands and words her future
these moments change everything
its the start of her new life
as they stand there
a crowd is watching listening
and his voice rings out
she hears and feels overcome
shes sumurged
it only takes one try
she resurfaces
only to be overcome with joy
she walks out
hes only paces behind...
there quiet and you can tell both
are changed forevermore
as time goes on
she wonders what he thought
so she asks
he was afraid to and nervous but
he never told her
he had to withhold himeslf
he was honored
for hes a rightious priest
that forevermore changed her life
within his hands and words...
shes forever greatful to him
he may never take the credit
but it as his free agency to choose
to accept her choice
forever that day changed
two souls who had given up
and the girls whose life is forever changed
