Upon Strolling Down The Sidewalk Poem by Augustus SlaterDixon

Upon Strolling Down The Sidewalk

Rating: 5.0

As I cross o’er the street,
I doth realize the abundance o’ grime
And the colours: grey, brown, black as soot
I happen upon from time to time.
The people who doth pass me
Are plain and dress nicely not.
Nor do they seem to be happy
As God’s grace they hath forgot.
Sinners are they! Cheats, delinquents, liars.
God’s anger they shall not escape
When they burn eternally in Satan’s fire.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I was emulating the Puritan or Puritan Revival style of poetry in this piece. I though it to be worthy of sharing after my peers encouraged me to post it on a poetry website.
