Urban Summer Poem by Pierre Rausch

Urban Summer

Left the cottage and headed toward the city
Into everything you can hold
We all have the summer place
The weather is a master of disguise

Enough to have a Broadway musical
I'm sure you'll keep trying
Your wild eyes stare at the acoustic park
Finally breaking the dark

Cashmere, maybe, maybe not
Always taking care of urban summer
A little more complicated than it appears
When your pocketbook seems bottomless

Anything other than a coincidence
The conflict going on inside of you
Down the jet-walk and the flight attendant greets
Filled floor to ceiling with computer equipment

Enough to have a Broadway musical
I'm sure you'll keep trying
Your wild eyes stare at the acoustic park
Finally breaking the dark

Cashmere, maybe, maybe not
Always taking care of urban summer
A little more complicated than it appears
When your pocketbook seems bottomless

Park areas both urban and rural
About existing in such luxury
Glancing at the address on the business card
I connected a cover story and fed it to you

Enough to have a Broadway musical
I'm sure you'll keep trying
Your wild eyes stare at the acoustic park
Finally breaking the dark

Cashmere, maybe, maybe not
Always taking care of urban summer
A little more complicated than it appears
When your pocketbook seems bottomless
