Us And Me - Poem by Courtney Beaudry

You loved me
But you just didn't know how to say it
Without your rings, without your diamonds
[Even fell for flowers]
And you cared I know
But you just couldn't figure out
How to be the one I dreamed about
Ohh

Confused about the feelings that surround me
Never thought the one I love would drown me
And now I question
Why a simple look breaks me
Why am I holding on?
Why am I still here?
Here I stay, in your arms
Waiting for some recognition
From your heart

And I know
Why this seems to crumble every time
And I feel
That it hurts me so time and time

You loved me
But you just didn't know how to say it
Without your rings, without your diamonds
[Even fell for flowers]
And you cared I know
But you just couldn't figure out
How to be the one I dreamed about
Ohh

Why am I holding on?
Why am I still here?
My love for you has blinded me
Prevented me from seeing
That a broken heart can't love another
But that I will try
Until everything's alright

You loved me
But you just didn't know how to say it
Without your rings, without your diamonds
[Even fell for flowers]
And you cared I know
But you just couldn't figure out
How to be the one I dreamed about
Ohh

[Didn't know how to say it
Didn't know how to figure out
To be the one I dreamed about
Without your rings, diamonds
Fell for flowers]
