POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Poetry is a comprehensive term that entails the artful arrangement of ideas and emotions. "Vanishing Love" is an experimental and humorous piece in which playing with letters, by gradually pruning the lines of the verse, serves to present the theme. As a pattern poem, or concrete verse, it mediates between text and picture, creating a bridge between literature and the visual arts.As an art form concrete poetry strives to restore the lost unity of symbol and image, the schism between word and thing, between subject and object, signifier and signified. The roots of concrete poetry go back to antiquity. The Greek poet Simmias of Rhodes, for example, twenty four centuries ago created a verse in the shape of an egg in which the design of letters enhanced the subject, displaying it also visually.
