I sit in the dark
Alone as can be
Fear runs through my veins
They ask 'How are thee? '
Reply with a lie
Why must they know?
How could they know I?
Be they friend or a foe?
These thoughts run wild
Fueled by sharp pain or vast sorrow
Only thought by a child
Fear lives through tomorrow
Might this be my life?
A question inferior
Be my arm to a knife
Her bright shine is superior
In the dark I remain
Regret flows to the floor
No more tears, no more pain
The life that beat on, case be it no more
