Veil Of Betrayal Poem by Abhash Deuja

Veil Of Betrayal

Silken lies strung in the air
Weave an alluring curtain of false hues,
Draped over panels of treachery
and tinted glass of guile.

Deception humid with tears of plundered trust
Paint an enchanting mirage of twisted views,
Of an illusion's dance-
Tantalizing, yet so vile.

Hands that once were warm,
Eyes now biting cold,
Both claw at the wound in my chest,
Anguish flows as blood and bile.

Hate blazing with frozen fury,
As silent whispers of ruse
Both press the steel against my throat
as I tread down agony's aisle.
