Venice and Dubrovnik

She wanted to be what she couldn't be.
An old lady with no wrinkles on her face,
an untouchable but supple courtesan
full of seductive and imaginative secrets.
She wanted to be like Venice,
some new Veronica Franco.

She wanted to have lovers
that the sea connects it with the shores
that her love is felt by the one
which has faith in colorful dreams
and an open heart that trembles,
.
She cried when he said
that it will never be hers
because he wants a peaceful harbor
because for him a freedom is
faith in love that is silent in the heart.

She wiped her eyes with a sleeve,
and searching to shore in the distance
she whispered sadly to fate:
"Oh, how beautiful Dubrovnik was."

Venecija i Dubrovnik

Htjela da bude ono što ne može biti.
Stara dama bez bora na licu,
nedodirljiva a podatna kurtizana
puna zavodljivih i maštovitih tajni.
Htjela je da bude kao Venecija,
neka nova Veronika Franco.

Htjela je da ima ljubavnike
da je mora spaja sa obalama
da njenu ljubav osjeća onaj
što ima vjeru u šarene snove
i otvoreno srce koje treperi,
.
Plakala je kad je rekao
da nikad neće biti njen
jer on hoće mirnu luku
jer je za njega sloboda
vjera u ljubav koja u srcu ćuti.

Rukavom je obrisala oči.
Tražeći u kopno u daljini
tužno je šaputala sudbini:
"O, kako je bio lijep Dubrovnik."
