Verizon Horizon Poem by Pleasant Dabbs

Verizon Horizon

Chad I beg you- will you please
Take my first call, I have to sneeze
I know Luís won't want to hear
A blast like that in his right ear

Log in right now and take some calls
Instead of lookin' at those dolls
Who started working yesterday
That's not the way you'll get your pay

‘Cause dolls and hunks and even more
You'll find right here on the main floor
Of A.C.S. - don't get me wrong
Some of the guys look like King-Kong

But all the girls are groovy chicks
They've got the looks, calendar pic's
So guy meets girl and girl meets guy
That's hard to do when calls are high

Don't laugh at me, and please don't scoff
Rick reaches over and logs off
His phone, when he sees someone cute
Or better yet, puts it on mute

Then while the others slave away
He and the girl have a hey-day
Until the big boss turns around
And stares them down with a big frown

‘Cause there's no time to joke and play…
When you're in queue. The bosses, they
Yell out the numbers "NINE, FOURTEEN"
When it's like this you must be seen

A-typin' fast and workin' hard
And just make sure you read the card
It's word-for-word, if you mistake:
Performance drops. For your pay's sake

You gotta do-it like it's written
‘Cause if you don't, you will be smitten
With boils and rash, an ugly sore
There on your nose, and even more…

Your pay will drop, your headset lose
It's kinda hard to take a snooze…
When calls are high, it's hard work, man!
Just do your best! You know you can!

And when your shift is fin'ly done
It's hard to leave this place of fun
Make sure you sleep eight hours or ten
Tomorrow it starts all over again
