as you walk towards that bright white light
leaving footsteps of unanswered questions
your lingering kindness clings on to our tears
teary eyes of those that loved you with passion
as you step into that silver clouded gate
your ever laughing face leaves a trail
of uncompleted dreams, undelivered promises
for your soul hastily and suddenly set sail
as you gently float away to that vertical horizon
to that point of everlasting peace and rest
they lay your body to the depth of the earth’s soil
and I pray to overcome that ache in my heart and chest
I know each day will bring an unimaginable test;
test of strength to overcome your loud absence
test of faith not to question God’s reasons or ways
test to try and move on without your presence
