Victim Poem by PHIL WINTER

Victim

Rating: 5.0

Being a victim
Of his emotions
People and places and things
Affect him deeply.
Emotions are his worst enemies.
They confuse him
Till he cannot tell
Whether he should take
The pathway to the left
Or walk along the right hand road.
Both paths seem unending
And with his sight
Already clouded by emotion
Each step becomes a plunge
Into deeper chambers of despair.
Oh! life of debts and chaotic emotions
Where shall he hide
From torment and confusion?
His fleeting span on earth
Is patterned with the harrowing
Caused by the conflict of his emotions.
