Viennese Sequence Poem by Richard G Berg

Viennese Sequence

Coffee houses. Some
Serving decaffeinated
Rumours of the past
Crumbling menus. Biscuit-sized
Photos how it was. Just that

Prater's Ferris wheel
Moves so slowly
That it turns
Into black-and-white
Cabins swirl with languages
From tourists quick to step off

Horse drawn carriages
Clip-clopping through the centre
Followed by cyclist
Bus and expensive traffic
Franz Joseph smiles at order
