Vintage Rollercoaster Poem by Frankie Renae

Vintage Rollercoaster

Supposed to be doin' somethin' else
But we got yourself on my mind again
I been stayin' up past 3 am
And though it's not all because of you
There's a part of me that doesn't want to
Stay just friends
Maybe I'm not ready to give up
On that fantasy that you'll show up
One day and tell me that you let go of her
And there's a part that don't care to know for sure

Chorus:
Cauz this is why the soundtrack
Of our friendship is a vintage rollercoaster
The same scenes are on their way back
And we keep falling over
I guess I just have to say
That if the regret kicks your mind someday
Don't be afraid to pick up the line
Cauz we can be friends
But I, for one, don't want this to end
I just want you to hold me, my wreck
Let the scenes be on their way back
Cauz this is on our vintage coaster track

Now there's things I wish I woulda said
Before I left, like my head and your chest
Wish I woulda told you that song
And how I love you to hold me, too
How I really could sleep in your arms
And now these
Maybes and what ifs are creeping up
Like if I'd have said 'no' one more time,
Maybe you'd not be afraid of hurting mine
But these type thoughts can only go for so long

Cauz this is why the soundtrack
Of our friendship is a vintage rollercoaster
The same scenes are on their way back
And we keep falling over
I guess I just have to say
That if the regret kicks your mind someday
Don't be afraid to pick up the line
Cauz we can be friends
But I, for one, don't want this to end
I just want you to hold me, my wreck
And show up on my door step
Speaking feelings that are the same
In the pouring rain
Let the scenes be on their way back
Cauz this is on our vintage coaster track

Chorus
