Vinyl Time Poem by Maureen Brown

Vinyl Time

Plastic smiles on plastic faces,
The culmination of desperation.
Searching for your plastic person,
Perhaps finding but not wanting, whomever.
Make believe words,
Reality restrained,
Barred from lips.
Truths unspoken.
Thoughts from bodies, minds unscathed.
The battle goes on.
Show not yourself,
But, who shall I be?
See me as I am,
Not a reflection of yourself.
The dye is cast.
