Virginia, For Lovers Poem by Natasa To

Virginia, For Lovers

Virginia, For Lovers

Come walk with me where blue hills fade,
Where golden fields meet evening shade,
Where Shenandoah winds softly through
A world that feels more beautiful with you.

Let autumn paint the trees in flame,
And whisper your sweet, beloved name;
Let winter stars above us shine,
While your hand rests gently in mine.

By rivers wide and roads that roam,
You somehow make Virginia home.
From ocean breeze to mountain air,
Everywhere I look, I find you there.

And when the springtime blossoms start,
They seem to bloom inside my heart.
Summer nights beneath the moon
Make me wish the morning wouldn't come too soon.

So let the years roll like the sea,
Let every season come and flee.
Through every mile and changing view,
Virginia will be beautiful—
because I'm here with you.
