Virginia, With You, Michael Poem by Natasa To

Virginia, With You, Michael

Virginia, With You, Michael

Michael,
there's something about Virginia
that makes me think of us—
the quiet roads,
the fading light through the trees,
the way the evening seems to slow down
just enough for two hearts to hear each other.

Maybe it's because
when I'm with you,
I notice the little things—
the warmth of your hand,
the sound of your voice beside me,
the way one ordinary moment
can suddenly feel like something
I'll remember forever.

I could drive through Virginia
a hundred different ways,
past mountains, rivers,
fields touched by sunset,
and still,
my favorite place
would be wherever you are.

Because it isn't really Virginia
that makes my heart feel at home.
It's you, Michael.

It's the way you make me feel seen,
the way your presence can quiet my world,
the way being close to you
feels less like finding someone
and more like finding
a place I've been missing.

So let Virginia keep its mountains,
its beautiful skies,
its winding roads and autumn trees.

Give me just one road,
one sunset,
one quiet moment with you—
and I'll have everything
my heart was looking for.
