Visit To Iit Poem by Suchitra Bandi

Visit To Iit

It was a place where I desired to live,
To live there, anything, I was ready to give,
But when I actually went to see it now,
I thought, I can never be able to stay somehow.
Enter the world of true mundane living,
where every mistake you make is unforgiving,
A life lead on a thread of calculated span,
where every moment is counted with plan.
Mechanics, Robotics are no longer for machines,
There they get embedded in the life forms seen.
A coldness in their way of life I saw there,
chills out the climate even in weather so fair,
A smile that never somehow reaches their eyes,
a world so true still made of many lies.
For once, I thanked god for not granting my whim,
For still I am not man-made, but a human made by Him.
