Vivid Illusion Poem by Cash Onadele

Vivid Illusion

We could be here forever
In each other’s arms, warm and cozy
But we belong to other people
How long can this last?
Let us forget our responsibilities

Have our moments in the Sun
This is the best time to make love
Do we have anything to lose?
What brought the clock into it?
I hate to see the time when we are together

We both realize we made the wrong choices
Can we unwind the past?
This life has to be taken, it never gives
We must suck its marrow from its bones
That is a choice we have to make

Should we care what others think?
We could build a new life together
Eat breakfast, lunch and supper right on this hay
It is a choice all ours to make

What did you say your middle name was again?
Hot, juicy, sweet, fantastic, trouble free,
Short termed? Where are you?
All my vivid illusion to hold on to forever!
