Voice Poem by Paul Burt

Voice

I speak to whoever can hear my voice
I crave for someone to listen
There is so much want to say
Yet these voiceless words fall on def ears
Like leaves from a tree that has come full circle of life
People walk on by like I'm not even there
My mouth form the words but silence is all that comes from this mouth
What has happened to me?
where is my voice?
Why has no one noticed my flaw?
I long to hear and use my voice for all to hear
but that day is long gone.
Soon to fade to memory until I'm no longer remembered that I even existed.
