Voices Poem by jackie compton

Voices

As I lay my head down to sleep.
In the silent of the night.
I hear voices when I close my eyes to sleep.

A soft whisper that rings the wind chimes of my mind.
For I hear voices when I sleep.
Word of the poet that echos off the walls and down
the halls of time.

For I hear voice when I sleep.
The silent cry of a mother that weeps out loud over
a child lost.
Left only to wonder why.
For I hear voices when I sleep.
