Void Poem by Ivona Sophia

Void

I turn my head when I hear your name.
the sky is dark and heavy even if a storm
isn’t in the forecast. how strange this silence is
without you. I’m looking ahead. on the wall
of a building a stain in the shape of an exclamation point.
in a silence like that, thinking is impossible.
rain falls on my face noiselessly like a touch.
I like the way you pronounce my name.
even now in the constant distractions of the street,
I can feel how delicately you stretch syllables.
I’m repeating lyrics of the song trapped
in my head. like a prayer.
