Volcano - Poem by John Jackson

Let no scientist, lead you astray about my complex formation
Let it be known, that I am an 8th wonder, unknown to a simple nation that is
Restless, like tiny villagers, upon my island, in the midst of simple chaos
That they bring to my tranquility, and peace...My magma heats, and they still
Ignore me, as if I am nobody, altogether...My plate begin to submerge, and form
My subduction zone, and they still turn away refusing to acknowledge my presence
My smoke, began to form a halo around my head now, could be seen from a distance, but they still do not want to believe or listen

My lava, is building, ready to destroy the foundation, that
I have so called been put on, but one I created
So they use me, and drain me, and now I will get their undivided attention
As coals of fire, signify my anger, and wrath
There is no turning back now, as I erupt in fits of
Fiery rage, meant to destroy, I've been to silent, and they are taken aback
My rage, meant to divide, to misconstrue, and I was relentless
They never listened until I became their
Worst enemy, now they are begging for me to stop
Too much of 'theirs', which is mine has been lost
So my lava hears their plea, and it disapparates, and my magma cools, into fresh ashes, as they
Try to rebuild the foundation, that I have so called been put on, but
One that I spent my life to created, Instead of confusion, I made clarity
Through simple emotion, where the villagers will wait for.......
my next eruption
