Vow Poem by Nightshade Starlight

Vow

All my life all you've done
Is expect great things of me.
That I can do nothing wrong,
And if I do then its punishment.
I'm not allowed to cry,
For you tell me stop being a child.
I can not speak wrongly,
Or get screamed at by harsh words.
I can't put a finger out of line,
Then you'll be there, hauntingly.
You tell me to do everything right.
You take away my life,
My very dreams.
And now,
In the middle of this night,
I shut my mouth and close my eyes.
Bleeding with deep wounds
That will never heal.
And I vow,
You will never hear my true words.
Anger flashes in your eyes,
When I say nothing is wrong.
You think that its wrong
I won't speak to you.
Even threaten to take
The very reason I live, away.
I vow with every part
Of my being, you will
Not hear my words of truth.
I will keep my mouth shut,
I will bring my barriers down.
I will only say what you want to hear.
I vow.
I will be silent.
