Wait

I will wait for you, he said to me.
I thought this to be true.
But time waits for no one,
and angers quite a few.
The years go by,
no end in sight.
Can't blame him for what's true.
I protest what I know is right.
That only helps a few.
The end is no where near my view.
I have the chains on tight today,
my legs and wrists are black and blue.
How do I tell someone-
the problems are not you.
Just wait, please wait
and we can start a new.
The life that we desire most
is inside me and you.
