Wait Poem by Cindy Thacher

Wait

Rating: 5.0

I was waiting for the bus today,
Waiting, waiting,
But not too long, I must say.

I waited in line to see the doctor today,
Waited, waited,
'The doctor was very busy, could I stay? '

I finally made it to a room for more
Waiting, waiting,
A nurse cam to take vitals and walked out the door.

I looked through magazines while
Waiting, waiting,
After 45 minutes, in walked an intern with style.

I was asked questions as she looked through my file,
Waiting for answers
I felt I was on trial.

I asked her why she was asking me,
Waiting for her answer
Couldn't she see?

I had told My doctor the symptoms in the past
and I'm still waiting,
It's all in writing, no verdict has been cast.

Again, I was left in the cold room,
Waiting, waiting
For the intern to find My doctor, by then it was noon.

My doctor eventually came to see me,
No more waiting.
He was there for a few minutes, maybe three.

I was then asked to go to the lab,
More waiting.
So, who is going to pick up the tab?

We are called 'patients' so need to be good at
WAITING!
But I'm losing my 'patience' and that's that! !
