Waiting Poem by Bri Lynne

Waiting

In waiting
We figit restlessly
Senses ripen in anxiety
We forget where we are
And the reasons we've travelled so far

In waiting
We tap impatiently with the tick-tocks
Things begin to drip, irrevocably
Our faith is ripped with our masterly minds
Right out from underneath
Our useless feet
While we wait

In waiting
I love you's are more mumbled
Than spoken
Kisses turn from bewildering
To passionless in one blink
Waiting is merciless
In it's tortuous endings
Darkness creeps over
But there's nowhere left to hide
Everything's been stolen by the time
Before I'm stolen
I begin to ponder
If the end is ever really worth
Waiting
