Waiting Poem by Naygib Sinnombre

Waiting

The owner of a used book shop
In a busy bazaar
Sits outside in his chair.
The old man,
With wrinkly trembling hands
And big round glasses,
Watches the life outside
While smoking a cigarette.

A bunch of kids
In their school uniforms
Walk past the shop
To the confectioner's.
The bazaar is busy;
But the old man's shop
Is terribly quiet and peaceful,
Just like the death itself.
