Waiting Damsel. Poem by RAVIKIRAN ARAKKAL

Waiting Damsel.

She was of the kind
The east of the world made,
Marrying to happiness
Of her parents,
Who has to arrange
For her marriage
She waited for proposals
Which came and went,
Her parents or herself
Not liking the groom,
She had been waiting
For almost a decade,
Sometimes the groom
Or his parents
Not liking her or family,
She was a dame
In distress in waiting
For the wedding,
Only which permitted
Her blissful nuptials,
As per the east of world.
