Waiting For A Lover (Shakespearean Sonnet) Poem by ashok jadhav

Waiting For A Lover (Shakespearean Sonnet)

I mark the hours by shadows on the wall,
Each moment leaning toward thy promised face;
The clock grows tired of answering my call,
Yet still I wait within this tender space.
Hope sits beside me, quiet, soft, and sure,
While longing paces, restless as the sea;
Between them both, the heart learns to endure,
Sustained by dreams of what is yet to be.
Each footstep passing startles breath and thought,
Each sound becomes thy name upon the air;
In waiting, love is tested, taught, and wrought,
Till patience blooms from ache made hard to bear.
O sacred pause where absence learns its art—
I wait, and in that waiting, keep thy heart.
