Waiting For Change Poem by Katheryn Foley

Waiting For Change

Can't you hear this heart breaking?

Can't you see these hands shaking?

Mom, I'm waiting for an answer,

I wish you would change because all I hear are lies,

Wake up and see that you made me and are now tearing me up,

Change your mind and change your heart these choices make us drift apart,

All it takes is one simple move,

To change a life and change the time that was lost in a world of space with
no meaning.

Lonely days are all that's in my window of pain,

Just because I put on a smile doesn't mean I'm okay,

These feelings are the price I pay,

It pains me to hear your voice and know that you made this choice of pain and suffering,

Everyday goes by and chances of a lifetime disappear,

Your missing our time and now I draw the line,

I have to do something to turn this life the other way,

And as I kneel to pray I know exactly what to say,

I'll pray for life, I'll pray for health, I'll pray for hope, dreams, and extra love to pour down on the ones that need it most.

As I look up to heaven I know my prayer was heard and now I just wait to hear his word.
