Waiting For It To End. Poem by Harith Danial

Waiting For It To End.

When I first saw your face,
I knew that I had to give chase,
Though my heart had been broken too many times,
I wanted you to be mine.

I tried my very best,
Hoping that you would say yes,
My heart broke when you said no,
And it tore me when you said I had to go.

The next few weeks was hell,
As everything i saw, rang a bell,
I was happy when I saw you that day,
But then, I knew you weren't gonna stay.

I had countless of sleepless nights,
Not because of all the lights,
But because I always reminisce about the past,
When I made a promise to myself, that I would make it last.

False hope was all that you can give,
Oh how I wish I wasn't being deceived,
Thinking back, I shouldn't be sad,
Even though you were all I ever had.

As I lay on my bed,
I think of the words I should've said,
It's now I realize,
Without you I'm paralyzed.

You wouldn't know how I feel,
As you thought what we had wasn't real,
I beg to differ,
I've always thought you were my significant other.

I did everything I could,
Everything a guy should,
Little did I know then,
You were only waiting for it to end.
